Learning to PRAY @ St Cassians

Categories: News

On Sunday 30th June, we left Thatcham behind to spend a day together in the serene setting of St Cassians, Kintbury learning how to improve our prayer lives.

The day began with worship lead by Phil, before Mark brought us a potted version of How to Pray by Peter Greig

We learned that to be effective prayers, we should

  • keep it simple
  • keep it real
  • keep it up

and we learned a simple format for prayer based on the Lord’s Prayer:

  • P – Pause
  • R – Rejoice
  • A – Ask
  • Y – Yield

We then spent the rest of the morning putting our new prayer skills into action through a variety of prayer based activities before breaking for a picnic lunch.

The afternoon was spent watching a film, doing arts and crafts, playing games or the now annual rounders match.

A great day spent together as a Church and together with God.
